I'm a loader at a hub for trailers. Unfortunately I've been written up for missorts and I'm at the point where it is gonna be my first working suspension. I'm alright with my supervisor but I feel my Lead has it in for me, that he wants to get me fired. I know that my Lead specifically tells my sup to write me up when if up to my sup he would let me slide. Last write up was for 3 missorts during the week.

I'm actually a good worker. My missorts started when I took my contacts off cause they irritated my eyes. I now have them on and concentrating on no missorts.

What do you guys recommend in the future?
How close am I to being fired now that I'm at 'Suspension'?
Am I one write up more from being fire?

I know its not funny really but they decided to skip our break today at our hub...this has happened once before but we had a sub in for our manager when it happened..this time, he was here, and so was his boss...which is one of the high ups....anyway...im a pick off..so it doesnt really bother me if I get a break or not because I hardly sweat as it is..but it sux for the loaders, and to be honest, even tho im pick off....a break is still nice, if i want water or need to use the restroom....this was on a monday too...we were very light...I dont even think the bldg broke 20k in volume...and i actually mentioned it to my mgr that night..i was trying to be nice..im like.." what happen to our break with a smile " OHHHH EMERGENCY..EMERGENCY....which was a retarded answer because 1) it was light....20k?????/ 2) its in the contract we get break AFTER THE 1ST HOUR BEFOREEEE THE 3rd hour

our supervisor asked our managers boss who was the high up who was there...he said..oh no no no..break after 3 hours of work.... LMAO????

The earliest I had gotten off in the past... So, after months of hearing about our promised land in Calgary, the day finally arrived when we moved in. The earliest I had gotten off in the past month (prior to moving into the new building) was 1900 from having to go 'help' other people...Anyways, back to the main story. The promise land. How wonderful. So, off we all go to our new building following our glorious leaders.

Keep in mind that our higher ups decided to implement the new trace patterns AND attempt to figure out how the electronic gizmo's worked at the same time, on the first day. Well, shockingly, our promised land has now turned into hell. We have a 0900 start time now, so I get into my delivery area with around 30 air deliveries, by 1000 instead of the 0915 I had previously. Our trace is a joke as we have people leaving the building with 200+ deliveries (not packages but actual deliveries) on their trucks.

Some days we've actually had +600 packages 'missed'. It's a fiasco JUST before peak season. Our drivers are already burnt out from running around and tripping over their 40 stops over max, that's along for the ride (not to mention most get back anywhere from 1900-2100). It boggles my mind why they have these stops on the truck since they know they won't get delivered anyways and it just slows the driver down. Oh, we also have to sheet ALL our packages that are missed as missed so we DO get to go back about an hour earlier than usual since it takes around that long to sheet all those suckers.

We had some helpers brought in from the states to help smooth things over...Yeeeeaaaah, they were pretty shocked by our poor attitudes here in Calgary. I overheard one say, 'In Miami, people actually WANT to work at UPS'. Well, Calgary for sure isn't Miami and all our drivers are currently foaming at the mouth and chomping at the bit to file grievances. Our union stewards are, understandably, patient about it since it is a new building and they ARE working the same hours as every other driver. I have seen more of our BA in the past two weeks than any other time though. I'm pretty sure he's leaning a little bit on our management team to at least make things functional.

So, all in all, our promised land has become a wild goose chase. DS, buddy, I pray your new building transfer goes smoother than ours because I doubt it could go much worse.

Oh, I do get a kick out of the little orange carts attached to the little car being towed though. Does this mean I can wear any brown socks until they have them back in stock? Another thing I noticed is that they have a color option drop down as though they make these socks in other colors. If these socks were available in other colors, what color UPS socks would you wear?
