If the question is why do companies pay for health care that is easy to answer. During the great war the government forced wage controls on industry in an effort to keep costs of fighting the war down(among other equally stupid reasons). Shocker that some companies were having trouble finding employees so the government in their lack of wisdom decided to exempt health insurance from your wage. Eventually wage controls were dropped but the exemption for health insurance remained. So you'd have to be stupid to not want your employer to pay for health insurance if that portion of your wages is exempt from the income tax penalty. Like I said early on if the goal was to lower the cost of health care in this country one of the things that would have to happen is to include employer provided health insurance as your income. If health care is a limited resource and there is no perceived penalty for consumption with extremely good health insurance it leads to overconsumption of this limited resource. You only have to look at Canada to see how that plays out. The system we have in place only encourages employees to want a higher share of their income as tax free health insurance.

Illegals are one of the main reasons our healthcare costs have gone up. Instead of our govt doing thier job by portecting our borders and deporting illegals they allow it to continue. Our tax dollars hard at work...taking care of illegals.

McDonald's, 29 other firms get health care coverage waivers
The United Agricultural Benefit Trust, the California-based cooperative that offers coverage to farm workers, was allowed to exempt 17,347 people. San Diego-based Jack in the Box's waiver is for 1,130 workers, while McDonald's asked to excuse 115,000.
The biggest single waiver, for 351,000 people, was for the United Federation of Teachers Welfare Fund, a New York union providing coverage for city teachers.

The Laws of Economics Strike Back
Well, Obamacare has barely started taking effect, and the evidence is already rolling in. I hate to say we told them so, but ... we told them so. The laws of economics have struck back.
Health insurers Wellpoint, Cigna, Aetna, Humana and CoventryOne will stop writing policies for all children (http://tinyurl.com/24437o5). Why? Because Obamacare requires that they insure already sick children for the same price as well children.
That sounds compassionate, but -- in case Obamacare fanatics haven't noticed -- sick children need more medical care. Insurance is about risk, and already sick children are 100 percent certain to be sick when their coverage begins. So if the government mandates that insurance companies cover sick children at the lower well-children price, insures will quit the market rather than sandbag their shareholders. This is not callousness -- it's fiduciary responsibility. Insurance companies are not charities. So, thanks to the compassionate Congress and president, parents of sick children will be saved from expensive insurance -- by being unable to obtain any insurance! That's how government compassion works.
In 2014, the same rule will kick in for adults. You now know what to expect.

ObamaCare Waivers
By Adam Bitely
Want out of the new ObamaCare regulations? All you have to do is be a big business that offers mini med-plans and apply for a waiver from the Health and Human Services Department. Just simply indicate that it costs your business too much money and they will grant you an exemption. Click here for the rules.
Wouldn't it be nice if all Americans could back out of ObamaCare so easily?
Over the past few weeks, headlines have been made nationwide regarding large companies amending their health care plans or announcing plans to discontinue their plans altogether in light of new ObamaCare regulations. These companies range from McDonald's to 3M.
3M is dropping coverage for its retirees, achieving exactly what the Obama administration intended when they designed the Health Care bill. The government has created an incentive for companies to save money by dumping their Health Care coverage for their employees and retirees, which in turn dumps them into the government system.
McDonald's is currently providing mini-med plans for nearly 30,000 employees. With increases mandated by ObamaCare on the annual limits of such plans, McDonald's indicated that it was too expensive to offer the plans with the increases. That's why McDonald's applied for a waiver to be exempt from the annual limits increase on the mini-med health care plans. So in 2014, when the exemptions are no longer granted, McDonald's will most likely cancel the plans altogether dumping more people into the government system.
Just look at how the annual limits increase over the course of the next two years, according to the HHS:
· For plan or policy years beginning on or after September 23, 2010 but before September 23, 2011, $750,000;
· For plan or policy years beginning on or after September 23, 2011 but before September 23, 2012, $1.25 million; and
· For plan or policy years beginning on or after September 23, 2012 but before January 1, 2014, $2 million.
The effect ObamaCare is having on individual Americans becomes clearer with each passing day. As the government hands down more regulations to put ObamaCare into effect, we will see a continued reduction in the number of people on employer health care plans. And this is all further evidence that the current health care plans Americans enjoy will continue to decrease as ObamaCare takes effect, standing in direct contrast to Obama's promise that most people would be able to keep their current Health Care plan.
In fact, the U.S. Department of Labor admitted as much in a recent regulation where they estimated that up to 69 percent of private health plans will lose their grandfathered status by the end of 2013 — forcing their customers to change providers whether they want to or not.
While government bureaucrats sift through 1,500 requests from businesses to receive waivers on annual limits increases, many Americans are in fear that they will soon be without the health care coverage they currently have. One thing is for sure though, it sure would be nice if all of America could apply for a waiver to escape the impending doom of ObamaCare.

Subj: Obama Hides 2 Armies in Healthcare Bill See Video
I listened to and watched this clip with disbelief as I saw the actual wording (pages) in the health care bill that have absolutely nothing to do with health care. I'm now very concerned that Obama is in the process of creating a "personal military" for use in manipulating/controlling the general population.
This guy is becoming more devious and frightening every day....and the mainstream media has
never mentioned this clandestine scheme that has a $4 billion price tag!
