Ohio Lawmakers Protest DHL, UPS Air Shipping Deal - Smart Money
With Ohio as a key swing state in the upcoming presidential elections, the proposed DHL/
UPS arrangement could have a political impact. Both presidential nominees Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., and Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., have criticized the deal.

UPS arrangement doesn't involve a merger, acquisition, or transfer of assets, Sen. George Voinovich, R-Ohio, said it raises antitrust questions because it "will result in DHL becoming heavily dependent on one of its closest competitors for a key component of its service."
