United Parcel Service (UPS), the world’s largest logistics firm, says the Philippines remains vital to the company’s operations in the region despite the planned pullout of its hub in Clark Field, Pampanga, next year.
Tim Gohoc, UPS Philippines managing director, maintained that there’s no plan to downsize its facilities in Clark Field, even if cargo volume is declining as a result of the transfer and the global economic slump.
“Clark is an integral part of UPS. The Philippines will continue to be a vital aspect of our operations. We will continue to utilize Clark as our gateway for export and import cargoes. We will make the necessary adjustments by next year,” Gohoc said.
