Levittown Man Sues UPS For Discrimination - Long Island Press
A 13-year veteran of the United Parcel Service (UPS) has filed suit against the shipping giant, claiming Big Brown fired him after he was diagnosed with stage three colon cancer.
It is not the first time Messina and UPS had differing opinions. Messina was fired in the past by UPS and had some issues with management.
Within the agreement, Messina was to undergo anger management courses and make periodic visits to a psychologist. However, soon after his return to the company, he was diagnosed with stage three colon cancer by doctors at Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital. In the subsequent months, Messina returned to the hospital to complete a series or various procedures such as CAT scans, chemotherapy sessions, and invasive surgeries, all of which, says Messina’s attorney Len Leeds, made him unable to keep his anger management appointments.
