Not a Bret Favre story, but is related to the New York Jets.
A long time ago, one of the neighbor kids up the street used to lock himself out of the house a lot. I remember him as a chubby little black kid that used to come to our door and ask to use the bathroom. My wife would give him homemade chocolate chip cookies and Popsicles. He loved the green ones. He is a few years older than my oldest son, so I lost track of him over the last few years. I heard he made the local HS football team, but I am not a football fan so I didn't pay much attention to him.
I got a big surprise a few weeks ago. My wife had stopped to say hi to his dad, "Big Calvin", who was standing at their mailbox. The "little kid" I remembered as "Little Calvin" signed a six-year deal with the Jets for $42 million bucks this past March. His name is Calvin Pace, their new Line Backer. |
