I take offense, I had a gremlin, and it was great, wish I had it now good gas mileage.

the ultimate definition of a puddle jumper?
I rented a gremlin once and tried to drive through 12 inches of water and put it in the swamp

Man,I thought the new mustangs looked a lot like the originals from the early 70`s,check out the new proposed trans am,its
almost identical to the old ones, although I bet they're a lot
smaller than they used to be...and get rid of that stupid
decal on the hood.Otherwise this looks like a sweet ride.[/IMG]

I had an '84 Trans Am, bought it from my parents in 1986. Drove it 'til about 1999. Sat in the garage until last year when I got rid or it...Brings back old memories.

I loved my bug. It was a hard top and had factory A/C. I have never seen one since with factory air. Damn, the memories that were made in that car!!!
Drive In movies / road trips to New Orleans / camping trips in the hillcountry of Texas/ having my face go through the windsheild when I hit a semi-dump truck. My poor bug died that day, but I didn't. It is good to have a hard head when you drive a car without seatbelts. I am a sentimental kind of person. Before the wrecker took it away( Yeah ,cut up, broken nose and other injuries) I took the hood ornament off. It is in a type drawer hanging on the wall of my kitchen with other small objects that have meaning to me.
My bug got 35 MPG. I really am sentimental about it now.

DS, I hate to say it, but the bug brings back bad memories. Growing up there was four of us kids. My mom and dad in the front , older brother and sister in the middle and my other brother and I in the cubby hole. We lived in Barstow,Calif. a small town located in the mojave desert. It was hot back there in the hole, no a/c(dads to cheap, lol) and very little ventilation(kinda like an ups truck). Tempers were short and my brother and I would have big kicking fights. It was nothing more than shear torture. How he and I fit back there is still a mystery. I also owned one, again no a/c,no blower for the heat, no window defroster, very little suspension(felt every bump on the road) and they dont do well in the snow. I was glad to sell it. sorry, I just cant be with you on this one. ( :

My mom and dad were both school teachers. My dad grew up in huntington beach area, down below. Your right about the railroad. Theres a big hump yard. We first lived inbetween Yermo and Dagget(too very some places, towns i guess with weird names, lol). I love and miss the high desert. That where my heart will always be. Ive been in Virgina for about 24 years and have not become very attached to the landscape. It is nice va, but that something just isnt there.

More your killing me, I LOVE DEL TACO! None here, I went to their web site a while back and I believe theres one in maryland. To far to drive and it probably wouldnt be the same. Yes, Barstow is the pit stop between LA and Las Vegas. I dont know if you remember a place called Lake Delores, wild place, its closed now , I was a life guard there for a couple summers, It was great. I used to work at Harts cafe(at the calico s exit back in 1980. Well I could go on and on. Idle Spurs steak house I worked there tooo.
