I haven't went to 3 movies in the last 20 years. Last one I rented off of Direct TV was Grand Torino--as usual it wasn't as good as the previews made it out to be.

Rod...don't worry, didn't go to a theater. These were pay per view movies at our hotel in Vegas. When the machines don't pay, you go to the room & watch a movie!! We did this for 3 nights. (damn)

You know More, there are other things you can do in a Vegas hotel room besides watching movies. Practice counting cards for example.

Ditto what cachsux said about Zombieland. I took my son and his friend and we thought it was great!

I am a big fan of zombie movies, the damn things can still give me nightmares .

We also saw Surrogates two weeks ago. Not a bad flick but not one you need to see on the big screen either.

Just saw ZombieLand with Tony and our daughter. We all loved it. It's super gory but has a sense of humor. If you like movies that feel like a rollercoaster ride then you'll really like this one.

Took my daughter and her friend to see Paranormal Activity tonight.

It did not live up to the "scariest movie ever" hype but it was entertaining along the same vein as the Blair Witch Project.

Watched The Uninvited, it was ok. The plot kept me interested, and it had a nice twist at the end, but the writing was pretty subpar. Worth a rental.

Saw "Couples Retreat" today. I am not a huge Vince Vaughn fan but had heard good things about this movie and was not disappointed. This is a "wait for the DVD" movie.

I was really hoping to see "Amelia" but it is not playing locally.

I'm confused. You liked it but we should wait for it, or Vince Vaughn didn't fail to disappoint you?

I have my own rating system that I use when watching previews of upcoming movies--"must see" and "wait for the DVD". The movie was good but not a "must see". Vince was actually not too bad in this one.

I thought Vince Vaughn was great in Wedding Crashers but so far I have not liked anything he has been in afterwards. Based on that, his name is not enough to sell me on a movie he is in. I was going to wait for Couples Retreat to come to DVD, if I was going to watch it at all. Probably I will simply wait for it to come to one of the premium cable channels.

As for some of his older movies, count me in with those who think Swingers was ok, but definitely not worthy of the cult like status it has attained.

Old School on the other hand was pretty funny .
