A Julia Child movie is on it's way? According to Variety, Columbia Pictures is adapting Julie Powell's book Julia and Julie: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen, about the author's year-long attempt to cook all the recipes in Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking and detail it in her food blog (and then book). In the movie, which will simply be titled Julia and Julie, Powell will be portrayed by Amy Adams and Child will be played by Meryl Streep

Watched "Synechdoche, New York" yesterday. I honestly can't even begin to explain it. If you liked "Adaptation" or "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", then you will probably enjoy it, but it's a weird one.

Think we're going to the drive-in this weekend.

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian

and

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

I think I've seen X-Men movies before, but I have not seen the first "Night" movie.

To big_arrow and wkmac, the majority of this Star Trek's story line came from the animated series. Also, a second one of this "movie series" has already been green-lighted.

Speaking of Star Trek and also Star Wars I watched the movie Fanboys on dvd. It was quite funny with lots of cameos for the folks with a bit of nerd in them.

Im not a big Ben Stiller fan either, but the first Night at the Museum was better than I thought it would be. Robin Williams was pretty funny as Teddy Roosevelt. Looking forward to the new Night movie. Might be my little girl's first movie at the theater. I have the first one set to tape and will watch it with her to see if she likes it.

Went to drive-in last night:

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian

I didn't much like it. Somebody mentioned Robin Williams playing Teddy Roosevelt, well you'll be disapointed. He played the part, but they really didn't give him anything funny to do.
Stiller, I know who he is now, don't like him too much.
Not worth seeing (for an adult). There were a million young children there, maybe good for them.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

This was better. Lots of action, at least.

Watched "Body of Lies" last night. As action/thrillers go it was pretty decent, fast moving, plenty of action, and Dicaprio and Crowe are both good actors. But it was also completely implausible. Total suspension of disbelief is key to enjoying this one.

Over, I should have taken your advice and saved the $7 by not going to the Museum movie. The only highlight (for me) was the actress who played Amelia Earhart--very attractive.

I am looking forward to seeing The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, with Denzel and Travolta. It is a remake of the movie from the 70's and looks really good.

Is it just me or do some of rate movies according to the previews either "Must See at the Theater" or "I'll Wait For the DVD"?

I rate them as such, Upstate. I had a choice to go see Star Trek or Angels and Demons. I chose Angels. I can wait for Star Trek to come out on dvd.

BTW, loved Angels and Demons. Would love to go see it again.

I saw Terminator Salvation. It was pretty good. It sticks to the original story (unlike Star Trek) and even has a special appearance from ole Arnold (CG of course) and that was pretty cool. I want riddle this with spoilers but I will say that there is a "good terminator" as usual. I was nervous that he (it) would involve a new story line like what happened in Star Trek but that wasn't the case. I recommend the movie for anyone that liked any of the previous Terminator movies.

I thought it was OK. I didn't really like Danny Elfman's music. I was hoping Bear McCreary would be doing it. (He did Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles, the TV show. Some may recognize his name from doing the 2003-2009 Battlestar Galactica.)

Freaked out !! I went to bed and was channel surfing. I pushed for channel 4 (NBC) and they happened to be showing the ads for "Drag Me to Hell"..

Just as channel 4 came on it showed a person in bed turning over to see that scary face beside him/her (i didn't notice the gender).. That spooky face gave me the chills and I felt like a little kid in the dark !!
