My center is requiring all package drivers to work Saturday the 23rd. Is anybody else having the same experience? In 29 years this will be the first Saturday I have had to work.

our center is making us work... but this isn't uncommon for us.

How can it be mandatory? And if it is, does that mean double time? Our center is signing up volunteers. So far the list is not too long and like its been said before, alot of drivers will be pushing 60 hours on Friday night.

in my ctr there is a volunteer list. my guess this is to supplement the saturday air drivers.

How can it be double time it's a sixth day which is time and a half???

maybe for drivers it is but when we worked sat sort (a sixth day) on the preload we were paid straight time.
