Just got laid off and asked to leave the premises. I was told that "service and freight levels are down, the company needs to make hard cuts" and then got asked to "please clock out, do not return to the dock, we need to escort you out of the building"
Which, to me, in my current position, seems like a load of bollocks! There is no way I see service levels being down. It might be that I just wasted half a day to go to work and get canned, but I think some short pointy headed little excuse for a manager wanted my hide nailed to the wall.

In addition, you said one or two things that would piss off management.

you said you are laid off not fired, big difference
unless you are the bottom guy at your terminal u shouldnt be the only one laid off
they are suppose to call you back to work before hiring somebody off the street | |

I wasn't bottom guy, there were 5 others below me. Am I right to involve the union? I made the call to my Steward and to my Business Agent.
