Filing for short-time disability. Does it take away my vacation time?

I was just wondering if what I heard was true. Does filing for part time disability take away my vacation time? I have 2 weeks scheduled coming up and was worrying if they would be taken away because I will be filing temporary disability.

File. Don't make my mistake. I was out 6 weeks when my appendix ruptured. Didn't even know we had short term disability - it was my first sick/request day in my 24 years up till then. Wound up burning 6 weeks of my sick bank that I didn't have to.

No it does not. Some guys trade or move the vacation time to the time they need for the disability. But if the boss does not get you your vaca pay then it makes no sense.
