So why are you defending this socialist program in particular?  I can answer that question.  It's Trump's pitiful attempt to make things right with his farm base in an effort to hold on to the farm belt states next year. The reports I'm getting is that the payouts are so small and such a tiny percentage of the actual loss that some farmers aren't even bothering to sign up for the money .
