It's was a stated policy in our center that any driver that files for over 9.5, will be ridden with for 3 days to lock in the SPORH for that route. Period, no exceptions. Why would they do this if drivers are actually putting up good numbers? It is an intimidation tool, plain and simple. It's an attempt to scare drivers away from filing. However when it didn't work and more and more drivers began to file they changed the strategy. Now they don't do the 3 day rides, they just dead lock the panel hearings on the grievances until they get to the National 9.5 committee who in turn says to kick it back to local. Then the process of dead locking begins again. We are now on round three of grievances that have been file before peak season last year. And guess what, it's working because many of the drivers that had been filing have given up and stopped filing. and some of you don't understand why I keep asking where UPS's integrity is hidden.
