I am guessing the OP is talking about a driver that was incorrectly denied a FT seniority date, a grievance was filed and their payrate was adjusted. The only thing I can think of.

Does any one know why accidental full time employees go straight to top rate?

I mean I obtained full time seniority outside of a bid. I have 40, 8 hour days in a 70 day period. I basically created a job that didn't exist

When your part time and your able to accumulate enough 8 hour days to become full time with out the company noticing. Accidental book
A lot of PTers either working doubles or driving air plus their PT job work over 8 hours a day or 40 hours a week. Most don't say anything because it would give the Union an excuse to demand another FT job. The job would be bid by seniority and I am guessing it would not be you.
