Anxiety

Brown Biscuit

Blind every day
Isolate yourself for a few minutes and count to ten. Take deep breaths. Might sound dumb or simple but controlling your thoughts and breathing can work wonders. Hang in there man.

We had a guy come in look at his truck wig out and have to go home. He ended up getting a doctors note to take a week or so off on FMLA another guy from what I was told had a nervous breakdown on road and he was gone for a month or so. There was no mercy once they came back but at least they had some time off. There’s no reason to stress it’s just a job and their just boxes of crap. I haven’t finished my day in over a week. I’ll probably have 600 stops and 1200 pieces today and I’ll be lucky to have 80 off by 11pm tonight. I plainly just don’t care about it. I stress more about days where I think I can get done early compared to days where you’re kicked in the nuts at the front door when you know you won’t finish.

If you already have health insurance through UPS, go online and check out the mental health benefits. Our insurance covers 100% online mental health. Talk to someone that will give you the right tools to overcome. Might do the trick. Good luck!

I agree with the breathing technique. When you're stressed your breathing becomes rapid and shallow, thus sending your body a major distress signal.

What do you do if you have an anxiety attack on shift? Please please don’t be a dick I just need some help
Well, obviously diet & medication can help this.

Surround yourself around positive people the best you can. It's virtually impossible today to stay off social media so just try to interact with folks that make you smile and laugh.

Donate time and/or money to charity. Sell something online. Buy a round lot(100 shares) of Taco. It might go down & out but you're only out $725 and got to play the market or gamble for a helluva long time on 60% of your stimulus. Cut back your Fox or CNN time. Remember the actors, cars, sports hero's of your youth. Push away from porn. Go for walks, bike rides. Call your parents. Build a back yard fire. Listen to John Denver & CCR. Be a real good person to animals, your pets. Their love is unconditional and that's always great to feed off. Just do the best you can and know you're not alone.

Remember; Life, your job, your relationships, your finances, your health are all worrisome from time to time. It's a good life, but it's up to you to make it that way.

Take the lil' lady out to dinner or pick it up and go somewhere in nature to have a picnic and stay off the phone and tell the boyz... you're out with yer lady because that TACO is en fuego!

This might sound simple but, do that of which you are afraid. The human brain has tremendous capacity to adapt and if you don't give in to the fear, the brain will desensitize. The panic is the fear of having no control. The desision not to give in puts you in control.

Good luck.

Hydration and avoiding caffeine will help prevent them. Don’t be afraid to drink a couple beers after work once and again. It’s good to relieve some stress, just don’t get :censored2: faced hammered and end up dehydrated.

First and foremost, don't drive the package car until you are able to calm down. My training sup told me on my first day that they are only boxes of junk and they will get where they are going eventually, and to take a break if I feel I am losing control.

The last two months...I've been getting anxiety before coming in. Sometimes so bad, you feel like you rather die. Am already in therapy for over a year. But doesn't seem it is helping much in this situation. I just deal with it for now, hoping things calm down soon.

Are you looking for advice on how to overcome the anxiety, or how to leave work for the day?

I had a similar issue once. Called the center and told them I wasn’t able to drive safely and that I needed to go home. Brought the route in and punched out. Wasn’t a problem, but everywhere is different. I’d be prepared to get Stewart involved and back it up with a doctor’s note if need be.
