New here, but not new to UPS...wanted to check things out here to see if I'm getting more or less BS fed to me than normal.

I know it's mostly union folks, but I thought I'd like to see if there were others like me.

I just meant others as in specialist, I know the union guys always get a hard way to go. Even though I wonder why I have to do all my sups work while they get the credit, but I've been around long enough to know that just how it is.

OK, you're a specialist, what do you specialize in? I seriously don't know what a specialist does.

A specialist is a level of management between PT-Sups and FT-Sups. They don't get the MIP like a FT-Sup and get paid slightly less; although they make overtime if they work more than 40 hrs a week. I believe the OP is asking if there are any people on the boards that are also Specialists. In my building, there is a Safety Specialist and a Retention Specialist (works with training). Also, I believe that FT Sups on the Ramp each have a Specialist that works for them, but I don't know anything about Ramp Operations.

A "specialist"....wow....cool title
I bet it looks good on a business card...
I'm jealous:not_fair:
I guess someone in miantenance would be called "The Cleaner"
And our mechanics we shall dub thee "The Fixer"
How bout we call our Drivers "The Transporters"
And our in house support team "The Geek Squad"
Any other special title's out there ? :wink2:

What is it that you specialize in ? Putting boxes in trailers? Or telling people to put boxes in trailers. Personally, I specialize giving boxes to thankless people.

Realize that us drivers and loaders don't know anything. We're not told anything about this company that doesn't concern us hitting our SPORH our being underallowed. Although I work in a very small building, there are suits here that I have no idea what they do or what their names are.

I only remember the names of the sup who trained me who constantly did our work (not training or demonstrating), my immediate PT sup, the sup who's in charge of the clipboard, the FT sup, and the center manager.

Just happy to be here.
Another specialist here. I'm just not ready to sell out completely. I was TSG, now I bring my 'skills' (or lack thereof according to some ex TSG folks) into IE.

Believe none of what you read and only half of what you see. This is a really good resource for some inside info. I knew about most TSG cuts from this forum before most of the sups.
