It's been an experience. The Cancun airport has it built in to fleece you. They have an official taxi service. Works out to about $130 each way to/from the hotel zone! Since I was just going to a pharmacy the taxi manager charged me about $105 roundtrip. Waiting on my return flight now. Been looking at getting health insurance. In Florida it appears the choices are United Healthcare or Florida Blue(Obamacare). United plans start at close to $600 a month and Obamacare is $900 and up if your income is too high. If you have really low income then it's nothing to almost nothing. As much as this trip is costing me(I get discounted tickets with FedEx), it's far cheaper than paying through the nose monthly. United Healthcare makes you wait a year to get treatment for preexisting conditions. 6 months for just regular doctors visits. And their deductibles range from $5000 to $15,000 annually. I may have to head overseas soon to get some treatment. Can't afford it here until Medicare starts in 2.5 years.
