There is a huge difference in a blown out bursa and depleted bursa. With a blown out bursa, sometimes surgery is required as the only way fix the problem, usually followed by months of rest and rehab. Sometimes cortisone injections can give enough artificial relief for the body to regenerate on it's own A few yeas ago I had a bursa sac depletion in the hip where the sciatic nerve runs past the hip bone going down the leg. This was caused by the long hours of riding bumpy roads in a crappy package car with a worn out seat between stops. I was off work a total of 5 months 2 weeks. seeing a total of 6 doctors and ended up with a 10% impairment for life. Now the pain comes and goes depending on how long of a drive I have for the day or what kind of condition the PC is in. Good Luck with your recuperation jw55wags.
