If your start time is 9:05 and you punch out at 6:05 would that be considered 1 hour of overtime?
Did you punch out for lunch?
If you did, it is 8 hours worked. No overtime.
If you didn't punch out for lunch.
You will be written up for not putting an hour lunch in your board and paid 1 hour of overtime.
Why would you not take your lunch?? Learn to take it now. You will be on a report. Then asked why you didn't report a lunch break
Are we or are we not guaranteed a paid lunch under the union contract?
Lunch is unpaid
Nope. 15 minutes.
Unless they authorize you to put 10 min in for lunch....in which case you take the whole thing regardless.
Thanks for the response guys and gals !
Drinking the dumbs
Here, the first 10 mins put in is paid break the rest of the time is unpaid up to an hour. they want you to take at least 26 mins. They only deduct what you enter in your DIAD, and if you enter in less than the 26mins, they search your records for time you should of put in.
Lunch is all over the board. Breaks also vary. Breaks are paid time, lunch is unpaid time.
In my local, most full timers get 1 10 minute break, combo gets 2.
Tldr: ask your steward
We have state labor laws that tell us when to take breaks
Adults don't need to be told when to take their breaks.
Fulltime drivers ARE paid for lunch.......if they are runner and gunner bonus babies. They eat while driving/delivering during the time they recorded their lunch and then are paid back for that hour in bonus.
We have to take a mandatory 30 minute lunch. None of this 1 hour hoo haw.
Mandatory 30 min unpaid lunch.
We also get 2 10 min paid breaks.
Thug you finally figured it out.
No way? We get 2 15 minute breaks and another 10 minute break after 10 hours. Crazy.
I have know that for almost as long as I've worked at UPS.
