It wasn't long ago that Canadian truck drivers and their supporters had accounts frozen for exercising their right to protest and peaceably assemble. No reason to believe it won't happen to us. Unfortunately Americans are apathetic and stupid.

I recommend the bank of Serta. Also, small fire-rated suitcase safes are very affordable and versatile.

For direct deposit get a walmart/green dot money card.
