Im 18 and I want to be a feeder driver in the future at ups. I was wondering do I have drive package cars before I am able to drive feeders? Should I get my CDL?
21 here.Gotta be 25 to drive feeders in my area, pretty sure it's the same in most others as well.
Maybe in your area. A good buddy of mine just came up and he just turned 21.Feeder is 25.
18 huh, so young and full of......life . Goodluck .Im 18 and I want to be a feeder driver in the future at ups. I was wondering do I have drive package cars before I am able to drive feeders? Should I get my CDL?
Age 21 isn't it? Pkg or feeder. To the OP: no you don't have to drive pkg first. Yes, get your CDL from
UPS or otherwise. Keep a clean driving record and be ready. NEVER pass up any opportunity
that comes your way at UPS. Door opens, go through it. This SOP has worked well for me....
for 40 years. There are exceptions to all of this.
My area you have to driver FT package for a year before going into feeder.
I work in a Maryland hub. And what are the odds I get accepted if I have a CDL by the time I am 21?
Pretty slim, being that both Maryland hubs have the age 25 requirement. They can waive it if they need drivers and no one 25+ signs the list so there's a small chance.I work in a Maryland hub. And what are the odds I get accepted if I have a CDL by the time I am 21?

I'm sure we can but I can't tell you for sure if we have. I can tell you we have classification sonority. We only have about 70 feeder positions though.Does your area hire off the street feeder drivers? Just curious.
