No he is a Dem for sure... he is a good mix though if you are a political junkie... He is known for not being swayed from his opinions by Pelosi yet votes the party line Im guessing 80 percent of the time (which is good by political standards lol). He is from Swain County which is very conservative but Shuler believes that government can be the answer. He is a very good man but is not the brightest bulb in the light rack. Will be interesting though; he is very likeable.
