I love competing. I loved playing sports as a younger dude, but can't play football or basketball anymore. Golf gives me an outlet to get that competition out of me.

That was great. Pretty much do alyou t of that already. We do triple bogey max, other than that, I like it.Trip, this hasn't been updated in years, but should be the rules for the average hacker on every public course.

Hard to tell which was the main thing. Rebuilt carb, electronic ignition upgrade, new fuel line (I caused the old one to split by handling it).Simple fix?
If you want loud, find yourself and old McCulloch Pro 10-10.
Earsplitting even with protection.
I've got a McCulloch Power Mac 10 that I use for trimming branches. I once lost the muffler off of it and my neighbor who is far enough through the woods that I can't see him in the summer came over and asked if I could please not run it because it was so loud. I had ear plugs in and it still drove me nuts. Thankfully I found a muffler for it.
But, they cut like a sumbitch.
If it doesn't already have electronic ignition, I would recommend it. So easy and cheap to do.I bought mine in 1972 and I think the only thing I've done with it (other than replace a muffler that vibrated off) was change the spark plug maybe twice. Its got a million miles on it. A friend was cleaning out his dads shop and found just the power head (no chain or bar) in a pile of junk so he gave it to me. Turned out it runs great so now I have a spare motor.
It needed a thorough cleaning inside too. Plastered with 43 years worth of oily sawdust.Hard to tell which was the main thing. Rebuilt carb, electronic ignition upgrade, new fuel line (I caused the old one to split by handling it).

I bought a genuine Oregon (made in Taiwan) module off ebay for $17 with shipping. Took about 10 minutes to install. I went the extra mile by removing the flywheel to remove the old points and condenser. Way better spark at starting. Revs better too, so they say. Haven't used it yet, so I don't have any frame of reference.![]()
This thing is a universal kit, so it may or may not apply to your old Mac. Depends on how it is built.
Worth investigating if you like the saw, despite how hard it is to start currently.Mine is so frinkin old it probably wouldn't work
33-053 universal ignition module. Randy's engine repair was my supplier. You don't happen to have a part # for it. I buy all my small engine parts from jackssmallengine.com. Always great service and very reasonable prices.
Better get that check engine light checked out.
