I get it. You did not expect a UPS truck to be in your driveway. But, by only looking out your drivers side mirror while backing, you could not see if anything was behind you in your driveway. No, he should not have been in your driveway delivering to a neighbor. But he was there and you hit him without even seeing him. It could have been the mailman, could have been a repair van, maybe thinking he was at the right address, could have been a kid. You expected nobody to be behind you as you backed just because there are no kids in the area, or they should be in school? Yes there can. You need to learn how to back. Use your rearview mirror and camera to actually look BEHIND your vehicle as you back, not just along the side of your vehicle. You're backing up not knowing what is behind you. You're just assuming that there is nothing behind you. Even if you were both backing at the same time, you did not see the UPS truck behind you. That is a problem. That could have been a person. I am sorry to be so blunt. You're insurance company already told you that you were at fault. This is YOUR insurance company. Quit looking for someone else to blame and learn how to back. Luckily, this was only property damage. Learn from it. You could kill someone. Again, sorry for being so blunt.
