They were quite popular around here about 15 years ago but they were hard to find. One friend even went to Canada to get one. I once found a web site that was ran by young kids who wanted to get their scooters to go faster so they posted all kinds of ways to jerry-rig them. One of the ways was to take a 1/2 inch drill and drill out the end of the muffler where the out-spoof tube comes out. I tried it and needless to say I managed to ruin the muffler and make it have the most annoying sound in the world. (and it didn't go any faster).  I checked at the local Yamaha dealer and he wanted $370.00 for a new muffler. Well that wasn't going to happen (I only paid 400 bucks for the scooter to begin with). I finally found one Ebay for 15 bucks and 12 bucks shipping.  Live and learn.</p></blockquote><p></p>
