Closing positions to give to another shift

Can mgt eliminate postions in one shift and give them to another shift? Here at the Phoenix air hub, an A.M. shift set-up crew is being disbanded and their hours and duties are going to be given to the P.M. set-up crew. So, instead of the morning crew setting up for the morning shift, workers in the evening shift are going to set up for the morning shift. Would this be a legitimate complaint? Who else in the UPS organization can we talk or complain to in addition to the Union? Thanks

My only thought is that you should still be able to move to the other shift, or a different position by seniority. Cutting jobs and laying off should still go by your time in.

UPS can change when the work is done, but you ought to be able to follow the work, if you wish.
