Coronavirus fears prompt action for Louisville businesses - Louisville Business First

Several Louisville businesses and organizations are considering their responses as fears of a COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak in the U.S. grow.

"Out of an abundance of caution, UPS has put in place health and hygiene measures that are in line with suggested World Health Organization measures," Mike Mangeot, public relations manager for United Parcel Service Inc., said in a statement to Business First. "These include providing masks and hand sanitizer for flight crews, as well as disinfecting the flight decks of our aircraft coming from Asia. We also have a substitution process for pilots who aren’t comfortable operating China flights."

Mangeot acknowledged that demand for flights in an out of China has slowed and noted that the company has resumed operations in mainland China and northern Italy in accordance with local directives.
