93,584 dead Americans, 1.52+million infected. 1,552 dead yesterday.
It’s a great time for the union to strike. UPS is so short of help at the facility that belt supervisors are loading. There’s nothing the union can do about it either. As that’s what happens when UPS is short staffed. 15% unemployment and UPS can’t field a full roster.

Yeah. Imagine how much Americans will love and sympathize with the Union if its members purposefully stop delivering supplies to customers who have been told to stay in their homes during a global pandemic.

Yet everyone would still agree that we’re not even close to out of the woods when it comes to the virus, no? Millions of the old and vulnerable among us will continue to shelter until a vaccine arrives next year.

A strike right now would be dumb as hell however you slice it.

That is still a really low death rate.

94,143 dead Americans, 1.578+million infected. So far 610 dead people today. The military has lost its second member this week. There have only been 2 days since March 31, that America has had less than 1,000 dead.

I’m not sure everyone agrees that,” we’re not close to out of the woods yet.” Many on this forum think it’s over. Many politicians think it’s over.
A strike, a walkout, a call in sick day, are never done for the convenience of the other party. Do when things are going well people laugh. One thing that Covid19 has taught many posters, is much like the nation, the Union is divided. In many ways beyond repair.

As one of the first hot spots, today our daily death toll is near 0. Thank you trump... for taking a pass. Because you were late to the party, our death toll started to escalate. Then, when you become irrelevant, lives were saved.

97,140 dead Americans, 1.633+million known infected. The US military lost another member to Covid19 yesterday.
There are warning signs that America will be shutting down again in Nov. The shutdown will be coming in the peak of flu season, and the second wave of Covid19. Many Universities are closing after Thanksgiving till Jan. There will be no fall break. Let’s hope the union can get us some more money for this upcoming deadly Christmas season.

Imagine how quickly they would say pay the workers and get back to it?

What happens every time garbage workers stand up for themselves? Within 24h the city is begging them to come back.

I'd rather act and fail than be a coward about it.

Article headline: “UPS workers and the Teamsters Union hold America hostage during deadly global pandemic.”

Included in the article text: How much the average UPS driver already makes in pay and benefits in a year.

Sorry, dude. I’m 100% for Union solidarity and telling management to shove it when appropriate but a strike right now would be a big loser. You get nowhere if you make your customers hate you.

Garbage piling up on the street is not the same as packages sitting on pallets in the parking lot.

During the '97 strike we initially had the support of the general public but once the local paper ran an article in which they highlighted our wage and benefit package that support slowly waned.

Cries of "we support you" quickly changed to "get your overpaid asses back to work".

Umm UPS and the Teamsters aren’t just drivers. You’re not for union solidarity as others want more money.

The garbage is a good analogy. When people order on-line, they want their stuff. They don’t want it sitting on pallets.

Who the hell puts stuff on pallets?? Dont you have trailers??

The FedEx Ground facilities that cannot keep up have been putting overflow packages on to pallets in the parking lot.
