Delivering The NFL Game Ball

How many drivers on this site have had the privilege of delivering the game ball at your local NFL stadium? I don't mean to the loading dock but actually on the field. I got the chance last fall at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. Ran out of the tunnel in my Browns and the Equipment Manager was waiting in the end zone to sign for the ball. They showed it on the big screen before kick-off. Even signed an autograph for a fan hanging over the fence.

You are my hero!!!:happy-very:
I need more information!!!

Which game?
I would have cradled that ball like a baby; they would have had to rip it out of my hands and call the ref (Hoculi?).

No, Brett would have had to come over, look into your eyes and say with a boyish grin "Honey, I appreciate the sentiment but we got a game to win so I need the ball, but you can give me a kiss for good luck." You would have just melted.

Oops, I see it was last fall, the Brett Part couldn't have had happened. Still, it is hypothetical , so why not?

I dont have a local NFL team.

The closest city to me that has an NFL team is Seattle....and their team sucks.

If I had the chance, I would take that game ball and leave with it!

We also deliver the game ball (basketball) for Syracuse Orange home men's basketball games. The driver brings the ball and a DIAD to courtside and someone from the Orange signs for it. The driver and his guest(s) then get to watch the game.

Carolina. Pack let the game slip away with an 80 yard Carolina drive in the last minutes. I gave the ball back but kept Jennifer, my escort for the event.:wink2:

This thread reminded me of the time my district lost the BCS trophy. It was supposed displayed at the Rose Bowl game. It was a high value and STILL got lost. The whole district was buzzing because of the possibility of bad press. It was supposed to go to the front desk of the hotel and ended up buried on the back dock. They did end up finding it the next day. It made it for game time!

Then Brown, you must keep Jennifer!!!

My husband gets all these nice perks with his job, NBA tickets, baseball tickets, PGA, NASCAR, etc.
We have an agreement - NFL tickets, I go.:wink2:

He doesn't ask me to any other sporting events unless he wants one of those LOOKS.

I believe that an NFL ticket is gold and should NEVER be wasted on anyone that doesn't follow the game.

If I would attend one of those other events ..It would be a wasted ticket.

The worst thing is when I need to be a hostess in a company box at an NFL game...having to entertain "wives that are there because they HAVE TO go with their HUBBY."

You Da Man! FedEx has the contract with the NFL, but because the UPS Wisconsin District has done such an outstanding job with the Packers, we still do the 'deliver the game ball' gig at Lambeau! It's my favorite part of the game!!!!

Jennifer works for The Packers. She was my contact and led me to the tunnel. Wife said I couldn't keep her.
