Why do you believe Americans have a right to security, (Police, military) education, fire protection, but not health? Do you also believe we should get rid of social security for the disabled? Medicare for the elderly? Should we get rid of all of these "socialistic" programs entirely? Even in a capitalist society, the goal is equality of opportunity, correct? You think that can be achieved, by the masses, if some have access to top quality healthcare and a huge swath of society have none? Furthermore, if an uninsured person goes out and gets hit by a bus - who do you think pays for that? If an uninsured person doesn't get a colonoscopy because he can't afford a doctor, then gets cancer and goes to the ER, who do you think pays for that? The United States has a vested interest in a healthy society. You disagree? Fine. That's why we have elections. Republicans are your tribe - and Trump is your chieftan. I get it. Republicans are just, and right, and Democrats are stupid, and evil. That's your view, and you're welcome to it. I am independent - center - moderate, and couldn't care less about your tribal demagoguery. You are welcome to spin that wheel and fight that fight, and good luck to you. All I care about is common sense policy. Even before the virus, Trump was running up deficits over $1 trillion / year, and achieved what? His best year of GDP was 2.9%, for an average of 2.5% per year. (Obama, by comparison, was 2.4% per year) He got unemployment down to 3.6%, great, but what was it when he took office? 4.7%. So he improved GDP growth by .1% per year and improved unemployment by 1.1% - at the cost of doubling the national deficit. I'm supposed to be impressed by that? This is economic genius? He juiced a 10 year bull market by adding generational debt and called it the best economy ever - and ya'll lapped it up because it's exactly what you wanted to hear.
