I see a lot of conservatives, but also just people in general, saying how little a job is worth/what the minimum a job should pay is, when it's not their job - when it comes to their job, they're overworked and underpaid - but the other guy who works at McDonalds or Target, he's not worth $15 an hour, they don't do :censored:. I didn't quote your post to single you out for this, only to bring up the point in my post that this is an epidemic, and we should want people to make as much money as is feasibly possible, while allowing the companies to turn enough of an operating profit, that it doesn't deter entrepreneurship and potential business ownership moving forward. The wage increase will only help all workers, especially if you are as valuable and skilled as many of you(people in general) think you are - if Wal-Mart is paying an 18 year old kid $15 an hour, then surely the _______ who is in the prime of his career deserves a little bump too. The income and wealth gaps in this country leave some meat on the bone for employers to pay higher wages across the board without passing along a significant increase in the cost of goods or services to us along the way. Everyone works hard. Modern day business optimization has insured this - if you're not justifying your cost and proving to be an asset, you're gone. Companies carry very little dead weight, and they're demanding more work and increased production for stagnant wages and COLA raises.
