(NYDN) — Two Occupy Wall Street protesters were collared Thursday for vandalizing subways — a day after a local TV news station recorded the crime, cops said. Jeffrey Brewer, 34, and Aaron Minter, 40, spoke to NY1 News on Wednesday and allowed a news team to follow them as they placed decals on a subway car seats, cops said. The stickers read: “Priority Seating for the 1%.” After receiving a complaint about the underground shenannigans, police watched the news segment when it aired on TV, cops said. “We want a decent train service and with that kind of money in the bank, why are the rates rising?” Minter told the station. “And why are services being cut?” Investigators determined that the vandalism took place about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday aboard a northbound 4 train in lower Manhattan, sources said. Minter — who has prior arrests for burglary and menacing — gave the TV station a fictitious last name, Black. But cops used the footage to track down the two vandals anyway, police said. “We had their pictures and their ID,” a police source said. Cops found the two men at Union Square Park about 11:15 p.m. Thursday. They were taken into custody and charged with criminal mischief, making graffiti and possession of graffiti instruments, police said.
