Friday was the final day for DHL to do pickup and delivery of U.S. domestic air and ground shipments. At the DHL Air Park in Wilmington, however, the day probably felt more symbolic than momentous.
That’s because when DHL announced in November it would exit the U.S. domestic market, its customers knew they would need to seek a shipping alternative. Those customers did not wait until the last minute and have been switching to other options since that time, explained ABX Air spokeswoman Beth Huber.
