OK, diplomatic immunity has been used to protect diplomats from parking tickets and speeding tickets, etc. Now, this jerk with a Mohammed name tells an air marshall he's trying to light his shoes....when he was probably trying to smoke in an airplane restroom. He says he was joking.

If I was trying to sneak a smoke in an airplane, my butt would be behind bars.

In this incidence, jets were scrambled (very costly). That immunity crap should not apply when dealing with Homeland Security.

Nor should it apply to protecting people who enable and protect child molesters. I heard a Vatican spokesperson saying that the Pope, as a head of State, should never have to answer to any such charges.
