In my experience, union does first six months. Then, long term disability kicks in. But you better be paralyzed to have a chance at LTD getting approved.

I was on temp disability because I failed DOT exam due to a heart condition. The medical examiner said I should see a doctor soon. Next day I walk into the emergency room and was diagnose with A-Fib RVR(fast irregular heart beat). Following day the doctor shock me back to normal rhythm. I was kept another day until they said I was good to go and now taking 2 pills.

It depends upon where you are located. What supplement are you covered under?

Local 396. The HR said to call this number for disability and the union. And then the union told me to call edd so I can get paid. I'm guessing the government is paying me.
