FedEx employee dies after falling out of truck on interstate
A 20-year-old FedEx worker was killed in a tragic accident when he fell out of his vehicle on an Ohio roadway.
Read it again…..a passenger in the truck, not the driver, attempted to close the cargo area door that had come open, when he fell out.![]()

think you need to re read it as wellRead it again…..a passenger in the truck, not the driver, attempted to close the cargo area door that had come open, when he fell out.
Quoting from the article: “ When the passenger, 20-year-old Noah Fletcher, went to close the door, he fell out of the truck and onto the roadway.”think you need to re read it as well
To me it sounds like a cutaway. The passenger got up and went into the cargo area to close that side door. The driver should have just pulled over.why was right side door open and passenger not belted in. driver should have stopped before allowing him to get up. major screw up
I would guess they were in a Sprinter. To me it sounds like a cutaway. The passenger got up and went into the cargo area to close that side door. The driver should have just pulled over.
most likely. but still lose a pkg or two. pull the
Sounds like it wasI’m sure it was a “preventable accident”
How did you reach your conclusion it was a contractor?Let the investigation reach a conclusion and publish it's findings. The contractor on the other hand is likely to be trying to find a way to limit his liability and reach a settlement with the victim's family.
Not a good business to be in anymore and with FDX contracting you never actually had business to begin with. You're nothing more than an economic trash can into which FDX can dump all of it's risks, liabilities and variable costs and just walk away grinning like a possum.....And this fatal accident is one among many examples both past and present and likely more in the future where FDX is absolved.
Oh sure there will be a few examples of contractor success and FDX will hype those to the max but chances are they are operating in the most favorable and opportune areas but those are not numerous when compared to the norm. I know guys who lost their house, their marriage, their retirement accounts, their savings. their cashed out life insurance and their credit trying to make a contract that overwhelmingly favors one party over another work in an area where the demographics matched poorly with the operational model.
I doubt the article understands the difference between Express and Ground as being employees to FedEx. In all my years working at Express, I never had a helper on board my truck, even through peak. Two guys is a Ground contractor. How did you reach your conclusion it was a contractor?
After all the article reads "The FedEx truck was traveling north in the express lane," LOL
The article also stated that he was a Fedex employee, and we all know contractors drivers aren't Fedex employees. Right?
Exactly my point, someone including you is jumping to a conclusion based on insufficient information.I doubt the article understands the difference between Express and Ground as being employees to FedEx. In all my years working at Express, I never had a helper on board my truck, even through peak. Two guys is a Ground contractor.
that makes more sense.Read it again…..a passenger in the truck, not the driver, attempted to close the cargo area door that had come open, when he fell out.
