So when these new electric UPS trucks roll out, how long until there is a new method that involves honking the horn excessively to make up for how quiet the truck is?

Yes, I know I'm working late.
They'll never make it down here. The hype will be over and they'll die a slow death in the corner of the lot.
Our center has dibs on the first electric center manager, though.

We've had full electric trucks for over a year now, there's a gas generator in them to charge the battery when it gets low. It plugs up directly to a line on the belt to recharge overnight.

And it does a beeping noise it makes backing up, albeit low volume.

UPS always puts in a few vehicles like this (elect. or propane) just to get the "GREEN" crybabies off their butts. They would never get serious about changing the whole fleet over.
