Message: <blockquote data-quote="vantexan" data-source="post: 5369387" data-attributes="member: 24302"><p>I made the mistake of quitting FedEx after 4 years of no raises in 1997.  Got rehired 1.5 years later and was assured I would top out in 7 years.  15 years later still $6hr from top out at $18.17hr.  I hung in there for the pension which they terminated in 2008.  Got 19 years on it on lesser pay.  Took an accelerated pension at 55 in 2017 to get more for 12 years then at 67 it drops to almost nothing.  So making the most of it here so I can get a nest egg together when my SS starts at 62.  I'll try living in the States on my SS at 67 but if not doable I'll most likely come back to Argentina if it's still a bargain.  Be thankful you worked in a company with a union.  FedEx got it rigged so that we couldn't get a union in.</p></blockquote><p></p>
