Just got hired as a PT package handler, orientation is tomorrow. Just a few questions: will I be loading or unloading? Which one is easier? Is there a 90 day probationary period where you can’t call out? The person I did the interview with said I would have to move 1000 boxes an hour is that hard? How easy is it to get fired if I don’t meet that requirement? I really need this job as long as I can keep it. Thanks

you have a 30 day probation period if your job is at ups, fedex i dont know their standards

I don't know how old the OP is but if this is "MyFirstJob(tm)" they see the probie period and the bed going "OMG WHAT IF IM SICK"... until they realize that 90 days fly.

I think I’m in a hub, it’s a very big location.

Stop and think for a second as to how many boxes you would have to handle per minute to attain a 1000 PPH goal.

They will cover this during your orientation but I assure you that it is much lower than 1000 PPH.

Again, this will depend upon your facility but, for the most part, there are no lockers for PTers. You may/may not be able to bring in your phone and/or book bag.
