Who is squatting? Apparently you're unaware people camp like this all the time. RVers do it all the time. Yes there's a 14 day limit on BLM land. You then move at least 25 miles away and do two more weeks. You observe rules like fire bans if required. So? And I will rarely be on BLM land anyways. I'm planning on doing New Mexico state parks. 14 days then you must be out of that particular park for at least 6 days before returning. Some parks are close enough to go back and forth all the time. Restrooms with showers provided. You can primitive camp in many of the parks. Free if you have the annual pass. $4 a night for a site with electric and water if you have the pass. As to safety have you been to the Southwest? There aren't roaming criminals attacking people out in the boonies. People reporting you? What people? Or for what? Legally camping on government owned land? Do you know why you're allowed to camp there? Because we the people are the government. And the Border Patrol? Apparently you aren't familiar with Long Term Visitors Areas(LTVA's) set up in southern Arizona and California for people to boondock on with their RV's for up to 7 months for $180. They are very close to the border and no Border Patrol will bother you there. I've lived and worked in three border town areas and know what I speak of and have followed RV forums for 20+ years. You on the other hand are making assumptions. And you know why? You just can't stand seeing anyone do anything different from what you consider the norm. If you want to live the standard American lifestyle more power to you. Those of us with limited incomes have to consider alternatives and I've investigated it enough, lived it enough to know it suits me well. So you do you, I'll do me.
