For months now, the right wing political machine and the C9 on this board have repeated the claim that OBAMA is the food stamp president. But, as those of us in the E4 and rational americans know, this is not true.

The real food stamp president is George W Bush.! Thats right. The numbers pRoVe it!

I will be the first to admit I am NOT a fan of ol' GW, but the attitude of the recipients of this 'help' seems to have changed. IMO. The attitude is not one of 'Oh! Thank you so very much for the assistance so Ican get backin my feet.'. Which I am a proponent of. The attitude seems to Have changed to 'where the hell are my food stamps and heap! Is this all you are giving me? How dare you!! How do you expect me to live on this!!'

That is what I have noticed under obamamymama. And, what time of year is it?? Tax time!!! The gavernment hands out tens of thousands of dollars to mothers who work very hard during the year getting pregnant so they can claim another one of those kids running around Walmart getting screamed at about how worthless they are. Here is another simple question for you, with a simple answer...are more people on food stamps now than when zer0bama took office. one word answer is all that is necessary.

What a wonderful attempt to twist the facts again. Of course zero hasn't added as many people to the FS rolls, hell fire he's only been in office for three years.

There are many points to this TRPL... first, all the claims that black people or mexicans are killing the country by recieving welfare isnt true, as the official record shows WHITE PEOPLE recieve the largest percentage of WELFARE in this country. 36% are WHITE.

Second, the claims that MORE people are on welfare under OBAMA than anyone in history isnt true. For 8 years, BUSH grew the welfare state by 14.7 million and NO PRESIDENT before him had EVER done that. Since 2007, BUSH grew the unemployment rolls by 6 million people. Those people were STILL unemployed when OBAMA took office and continued for many more months until they ended up on welfare.

2009 is and was a continuation of the BUSH failure and after the stimulus spending, unemployment eased and trended in a positive direction. People unemployed from 2007 into 2009 only had one last resort and that was welfare or food stamps. Thats what our goverment is for. Helping these people who "THEY" hurt in the first place with bad policies.

You all give BUSH a PASS after he ran this country into a ditch and want to disregard his bad economic policies that led to the biggest recession since the great depression. You want to blame OBAMA but with respect to welfare, its just not true.

You can believe what you want, you can repeat all the right wing talking points if you want, but that doesnt change the circumstances.

(Judicial Watch) — In its quest to promote taxpayer-funded entitlement programs, the Obama Administration has actually rewarded one state with a $5 million bonus for its efficiency in adding food-stamp recipients to already bulging rolls.

It’s part of the administration’s campaign to eradicate “food insecure households” by improving access and increasing participation in the government’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Incidentally, the program was recently changed to SNAP to eliminate the stigma that comes with a name like food stamps. Just a few months ago the federal agency that administers the program, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), launched a multi-million-dollar initiative to recruit more food-stamp participants even though the number of recipients has skyrocketed in the last few years.

This week Oregon officials bragged that the USDA has given the state $5 million in “performance bonuses” for ensuring that people eligible for food benefits receive them and for its “swift processing of applications.” The money comes on the heels of a separate $1.5 million award from the feds for making “accurate payments of food stamp benefits to clients.” So welfare recipients are clients?

It marks the fifth consecutive year that Oregon has been “recognized” by the federal government for “exceptional administration” of the entitlement program, according to the announcement posted on the state’s Department of Human Services web site. The state official who runs SNAP assures that her staff will “continue working very hard to exceed expectations” so that Oregonians can “put healthy foods on their table quickly.”

Could this be why the number of food-stamp beneficiaries in Oregon has increased dramatically in the last few years? Since 2008 the state has seen a 60% boost in the number of food-stamp recipients, which means that more than 780,000 people (one out of five Oregonians) get groceries compliments of Uncle Sam.​

Well Klein, oh wait...not klein..TOS, I went back and read every post on this thread and NO ONE BUT YOU, mentioned one word about race or color. The figure I read on the % of people on food stamps had whites @ 42%. Race or color has not one damned thing to do with this.
