NY baseball gave us George Steinbrenner and Branch Ricky (also St. Louis) who both changed the game!

much as performance enhancing drugs use have ruined the game from the players side I thought georges style as an owner has ruined the game of baseball. small market teams can no longer hope to compete and are instead pawns used to leverage bigger paydays from the yankees. I'm not too impressed when someone with a lot of money acts generously with a portion of it. I'm sure george has some redeeming quality I'm just hard pressed to come up with it and grateful I'm not his steward at the pearly gates. Perhaps I can muster some kudo's for the entertainment value he provided us with his bizarre style of leadership.
