We had a 22.3 (since retired) who got all bent out of shape when the company did not acknowledge his 25 years of service. I guess he wanted a cake and everything------he got diddly squat.

i got a wooden plaque and a handshake from a feeder supervisor.

it didn't mean much to me at the time but now that I am retired , it means more.

I have my 20 and 25 years of service award plaques; sadly, I will retire before qualifying for the 30 year award. While our pension technically requires 30 years of service (and 55 years of age) for a full pension, we earn a full year of pension credit if we work at least 1000 hours in a calendar year. My very first year as a casual I worked 1050 hours which means, while I will not have 30 actual years of service, I will retire 9 months earlier that I was "supposed" to.
