Funny that you say this over95. When I first started air driving, let's say the first day alone, I opened a letter box and there was an Airborne Express package sitting there. I didn't take it. This is how stupid and naive I was. I could have just taken it and dropped in the Airborne box located 3 FEET away from our box, but I didn't. I didn't know what to do with it. I was thinking "why would somebody drop an Airborne package in a UPS box?" I guess I was thinking that the person who left it there would be able to get into the box (again, naive and stupid) and get it and put it the right box. A week went by and the idiot cunstomer realized he dropped it in the wrong box and called UPS. Needless to say, my boss questioned me on it and I told her the truth. Now in her eyes, I was the total idiot, and she was right. What did I expect would happen to the airborne package? Did I think it would magically dissapear? At the same time I was thinking about the shipper "you can't tell the difference between a UPS box and an Airborne box????" "why are you leaving your important packages in the wrong letter box?" When I send a letter via the USPS, I always check to see if the letter was dropped down into the box and not stuck somewhere at the top of the box. I am also fully cognizant to the fact that I am putting it into a US MAIL BOX and NOT a BRIGHT YELLOW DHL BOX. Good Grief!
