The political climate in Indiana is ripe next year for a right to work law to pass. I can turn in my union card and still keep my job! how do you like them apples? :p

I'm sure that you realize that you will have to pay an "agency fee", which I believe is 99 44/100% of what you are paying now.

I prefer my apples in a pie.

I believe you are referring to Beck rights which allow any union member in any state to insist that their dues only go towards the necessary union activities like contract negotiations, and not allow them to be used for political purposes. A right to work state allows someone to work in a union shop and not be compelled to pay dues as a requirement for employment. As of right now if I want to stop paying dues I have to quit UPS, if right to work becomes the law of the land I can stop paying dues and continue employment.

I stand corrected.

Like I said to you before. NO JUEVOS. You should turn in your union card, your union wages that "your" brothers" earned for you, and reapply after the "right to work for less money" kicks in.

Until then , you are a hypocrite.

Peace

If Rick Perry creates a min. wage job....that's still better than ZERO job creation no matter what world you live in.

Tell that to your grandchildren who will have to work three jobs just to get by. You can tell them YOU and your friends voted for the party that turned AMERICA into a part time country.

Peace.

Tos call us what you will. I would rather be called a hypocrite than your brother. I am an American, I pay taxes, I vote and if i want to have a difference of opinion and still work at UPS thats my choice. Unlike you I still pride myself in making decisions for myself. I like a little tea, so what.

I agree with you.. You can have your opinions. No one will be held responsible for your choices. Where you leave the road is by taking advantage of union benefits then criticizing the manner in which they were earned for YOU.

There is no pride in being a hypocrite.

You made a choice to join a unionize company, earn unionized wages, take advantage of unionized benefits, all things you cannot get in the private sector in non union companies.

You want the big check to feed your family, yet blast the very process that provides that big check to you every thursday and thats laughable.

What are you teaching your children to become?

Should they follow in your footsteps and decieve themselves as well?

Peace.

You are so full of it....if you go on the Union Issues portion of this site, hundreds of your Union brothers ,all paying dues and swearing solidarity and all complaining......"I never see my BA", "I don't know why I even pay dues." "The union doesn't care about us".
It's constant and has been that way for the 11 years I've been here. The criticizing is in tons of posts by all different people.
I'm pretty sure you're the only one who thinks Hoffa'a some kind of saint!!

Hey, for all we know, junior might be ahead of his time. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Lets hope.
He and Obama are a lot alike in that they both had zero experience going into a rather large job. How many teamsters does it take to screw in a light bulb?

Moreluck,

I wish you had more time to invest in understanding as you do posting. For starters, problems at the LOCAL level are not the TEAMSTERS in general. Every local is run differently, and some are good and some are not.

You cant generalize because someone ( some + 1) says he has a problem. The majority of UPSERS have no problems with the union because they DONT GET IN TROUBLE. Those that complain usually have something in the closet they are not willing to disclose.

These kinds of complaints have been around for decades moreluck. You consider this board "TONS"?? its really a small percentage compared to 365 thousand UPS teamsters moreluck. Do the math, oh wait, you dont check or verify anything before you post it.

Im not a fan of Brother Hoffa myself, but I wont bad mouth him. He is in charge of our union and I have to stand by him until he is no longer our leader. I have my own complaints, but nothing close to abandoning him when he speaks.

The message is the same. You can hate the messenger, but not the message.

Something you should learn.

Peace.

Re: Hoffa makes a A*S out of Himself for Obama

If I walk into my hub and say "take them sons of bitches out", The state cops would be there in 5 minutes, escorting me out in handcuffs.

Thats correct if thats the only context in which you said it. But you missed the bigger issue, thats not the context in which Brother Hoffa used the term. I know thats what you think you heard (because thats what youre told to think) but it isnt.

Moreluck, inadvertently posted a correct video of Brother hoffas speech showing the full context of how it was used.

If you watch it you will see for yourself that it wasnt used in the manner as you suggest.

I wouldnt jump into political commentary unless you are prepared to stand by your comments.

peace.

The joke I've always heard. 12, you got a problem with that?

The Blackadder

Are you not amused?
What is sad is not that Hoffa says this stuff,I really dont expect anything from Hoffa.

What is sad is the fact that President Obama wont condemn stuff like this, Obama is proven to be the worst kind of leader worried he might offened anyone if he leads, so he hides.

Yes, it has been decades, so why the hell do you even need the union anymore. They only protect the 'bad' workers. The guys who do their job never have a problem

I was raised in a union household. I was in a union. I was a chief stewart.....and now I see no need for any of them!!

You can keep the crapola to yourself. I'm for the 11 or 12% of workers who are unionized to be free of the goons and for them to keep more of the money they earn instead of making Cadillac Escalade payments for the Guidos in charge.

Anyone stop to consider how many business owners Hoffa offended with his idiotic statement? The Teamsters are inextricably linked to UPS so this could directly affect your future. At the very least, future negotiating power has been lost because there will be no public sympathy for drivers. A classic example of "Open mouth, insert foot." Was Hoffa drunk?
