How Are Those Insurance Benefits Working Out For You?

Fred has pulled-off another coup by screwing you blind on useless "benefits" that don't really pay for anything until you're already bankrupt. I've heard and seen some pretty bad horror stories of what people are paying out-of-pocket.

Sad.

Take your new courier making ~15/hr at 37.5 hrs a week makes just under 30k(BEFORE TAXES)
-4600 for premium benefits for a family
-6000 for taxes est 20% fed/state/local

now you are at about 20k a year take home...
get a little sick or alot sick pay 9200 out of pocket...
now you have 11,000 left to pay rent/bills etc...

The #1 reason I am actively looking for new employment. I have friends and family in dozens of employment scenarios. Some with small business's, large corporations, self employed, local and federal governments. I spoken with them all and zero have the outta of pocket expenses and high deductibles like associated with ours. I couldn't even find anyone who had to meet the deductible first w their plan when seeing a specialist.

Easy solution: jump onto your spouse's plan.

Fedex needs to get out the health insurance business by either purchasing an affordable group plan through an insurer or stop offering it to us at all. IMO our options are borderline criminal.

Spoken like a real A-hole... sorry one income household spouse unable to work, unable to collect disability... try again jerk

It wasn't directed specifically at you, but at everyone in general. Everyone here says that our insurance is the worst in the world, in which case I don't know why most of us purchase it at all, jerk.

Well when you go to the Doctors office(many different ones) and the billing clerks all have the same response "Oh wow thats high" or "that's alot" or "I thought FedEx had better coverage" It is pretty bad insurance, that employees PAY for.
