I'm still waiting to be a full-time driver. I am a cover driver with 6 1/2 years senority. I started Saturday air driving after 1 1/2 years and became a cover driver at 2 1/2 years. This is my 4th peak as a cover. The wait for full-time driver in our building is over 9 years. We have over 300 routes during the regular season and over 400 during peak. We have hundreds of in-building and combo full-time jobs in our hub. I think that after the new contract and reformed pension plan go into effect, we'll see over 30 feeder drivers retire as well as many drivers. They are just waiting for the pension and they are out. That'll move me up the ladder but I'm not sure if I'll get to full-time status next year. I'm hoping with my fingers and toes crossed.
