[QUOTE="Nimnim, post: 1240353, member: 28856"] PT sups are salary for 27.5 hours, if they work past that they get paid hourly based on their rate and OT kicks in sometime, I get conflicting answers when I talk to PT sups about it. Their rate of pay is based on a formula of what their hourly rate was before they went into supervision, and raises are a real crap shoot for them. It'd be safe to estimate a fairly new PT sup somewhere around $15/hr give or take a couple dollars so base salary would be $15 x 27.5 = $412.5 pre tax, then you have to add in the insurance they may be paying for and anything else they may have deducted. The PT sups in my area are also paid bi weekly so double the $412.5 to $825 then tax and deduct stuff. To be conservative let's go with a higher tax rate of 15%, so 825 x 0.85 = $701.25. I don't know how much they may have deducted but it wouldn't be out of the ballpark for another $100 so about $600 for 2 weeks, or $300 a week. Just to do the math at $13/hr 13 x 27.5 = 357.5 x 2 = 715 x 0.85 = 607.75. In this case if you took another $100 out for other deductions it'd bring it down to just over $500 for two weeks or just over $250 a week. Unlike the union there's no clear way to determine how much a PT sup makes other than asking them, you can guess, but it's not likely to be too accurate. You might want to talk to your sort manager if you're interested in going into PT supervision for the money, your chances for advancement are next to nil, but in the short term the money is better and it looks good on a resume. The sort manager should be able to give you more accurate information about where you'd be if you went into supervision. Also the hours during peak are special, my current sup almost never worked their full 27.5 salary time outside of peak, but now he's easily pulling 30+ just from my shift and he's coming in to help other shifts.
