How much was your union initiation fee?

I work in a great local. We just had the annual retirees picnic thrown by the local prez. I go every year.

10 dollars for the retirees. 25 for the active local rank and file workers. It is like a class reunion for the old timers.

My neighbor is a retiree and he sells about 50 tickets to his union retiree buddies.

About 300 show up. They put on a great spread of food. They roast a whole pig. Serve hot dogs, burgers, sausages, salad and all the beer and soda you can drink.

Worth EVERY penny to be part of the Union! They are continually fighting for me, and demand follow through. They have taken care of issues for me, including a grievance for a seniority issue I wasn't even aware of.
